Restoring Arch & New Interpretive Sign

Thanks to a grant from SSU, the gateway arch was refurbished and an interpretive sign was installed. The unveiling ceremony was held on October 17, 2014.

Savannah State University partnered with the LePageville Memorial Cemetery Committee to unveil the historic cemetery's restored gateway arch and new interpretative sign.

This is made possible by Felicia Bell, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of History at Savannah State University (SSU) as she directed the project as part of a small community engagement initiative grant through SSU's College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS).
